Minute by minute, first run

1

Min 0-20: the opening trio is destiny

Warden + Cleric + Ranger is the steadiest open (the Anvil). Event runners open Bard, speedrunners Evoker — but don't run glass on a first campaign; the wipe lesson arrives fast and cold.

2

Min 20-50: not every quest is yours

Board quests run on timers. Before taking a costly one, check two things: can you afford supplies, and will it drag you three days off the main road.

3

Min 50-90: before the first wipe

Unwinnable fights telegraph: enemy morale doubles yours. A good retreat (Shadow's Smoke Veil) banks 50% — only 4% of players ever retreat on purpose. Don't be the 96%.

4

Min 90-150: the event table outpays combat

60% of the text lives in events, and most of the legacy points too. Bard discounts, Shadow lockpicks — invest in event tools; long-run it crushes raw combat power.

5

Min 150-240: don't waste legacy points

From your first settlement, buy "classes one chapter early" (Bloodline, 30 pts) before gear. Gear expires; unlocks are forever.

6

Run two onward: the graveyard waits

At Bloodline tier your last run's dead appear in the new world. Not decoration — graves pay small legacy. Leave incense for your past self; the game keeps books.

Terrain advantage: high ground, thorns, chokepoints

Four ways to stop breathing

Five DPS, no front line

Always picking the "safe" event option

Spending legacy on gear

Fighting without reading morale

Initiative isn't an advantage. It's the only currency in a turn-based game.

Launch-week questions

Black-comedy survival. Jump scares exist but each comes with a punchline — scared but laughing is the series formula.
